Tender Mercy

From Doris: This week I have had more energy. I hope this is because the side effects of my last infusion have started to leave my system.

Did you know?

From Doris: Our family has walked 1593.91 miles to Bristol. Julie soaked the ground wheat flour with lemon juice and water for three hours before using it to make homemade bread. Greer designed a March wool door hanging for me. Paul and Lachlan played with Lachlan’s basketball hoop. When Lachlan dunked the basketball, Paul told him it was a high percentage shot. It was adorable to hear Lachlan repeat “high percentage shot.” I made some raspberry pie using frozen raspberries from our garden.

From Doris:  I Feel My Savior’s Love   1.     I feel my Savior’s love In all the world around me. His Spirit warms my soul Through ev’rything I see. He knows I will follow him, Give all my life to him. I feel my Savior’s love, The love he freely gives me. 2.     I feel my Savior’s love; Its gentleness enfolds me, And when I kneel to pray, My heart is filled with peace. He knows I will follow him, Give all my life to him. I feel my Savior’s love, The love he freely gives me. 3.     I feel my Savior’s love And know that he will bless me. I offer him my heart; My shepherd he will be. He knows I will follow him, Give all my life to him. I feel my Savior’s love, The love he freely gives me.   4.     I’ll share my Savior’s love By serving others freely. In serving I am blessed. In giving I receive. He knows I will follow him, Give all my life to him. I f...

Inspirational Quote

From Doris: Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf October 2025 General Conference   Oh, how I wish I could embrace you and help you understand this great truth: You are a blessed being of light, the spirit child of an infinite God! And you bear within you a potential beyond your own capacity to imagine.   Your origin story is divine, and so is your destiny. You left heaven to come here, but heaven has never left you!

Scriptures

From Doris: Moroni 7:33 And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me.

Counting Blessings

From Doris: Paul and I went on mile walks two different times this week. We went to the temple again. This week I was blessed my many people who reached out to me. I had friends from Idaho, Utah and Arizona send me texts. We had a FaceTime visit with our bonus daughter Tatiana. She and her family live in England. My sister Julie is visiting us. She arrived on Friday and returns home on Tuesday. She made us multiple loaves of homemade whole wheat bread. Her bread tastes amazing. Julie is a truly compassionate and caring woman. For Music and the Spoken Word. This morning the focus was on the hymn “His Eye is on the Sparrow.” This hymn is very special to me. It will always remind me of my friend, Marilyn. Our local family visited us yesterday and today. We had a week of warmer temperatures along with blue skies and sunshine. With the exception of the basement bedrooms and our three bathrooms, our entire house has been repainted. The lighter tan color is wonderful. ...

General Update

From Paul: Cycle 9 week 2   This week has been encouraging as Doris has been feeling additional energy on occasion. She feels that additional energy in the mornings typically. One day this week, she said, “I almost feel human.” She also has tried to go without her pain relief medication a couple of times.   We are enjoying the visit of her sister Julie, who came from Phoenix on Friday. She will be with us until Tuesday. They have enjoyed sharing time with each other. Julie also has been a blessing in Doris’ life. She has a marvelous whole-wheat flour bread recipe, and she has baked several loaves, which we can now preserve by freezing. Doris has really been enjoying the freshly baked bread, and we will freeze it in slices for use whenever she wants it.   We had fewer walks this week with all we had going on. But we enjoyed our time.   We find that time with family is a treasure. We were able to gather with our family living in the area for di...
