 From Doris: Counting blessings My ministering brother and another elder from our ward gave me a priesthood blessing on Monday evening.  Kyle’s family came over on Tuesday.  Lachlan ran up and gave me a big hug. Paul is my best friend, my sweetheart, a strength to lean upon, and currently my caregiver.  I could not endure my challenges without him. The knowledge I have that Jesus Christ understands my suffering and provides me comfort and power to endure them. Prayers of family and friends. I have an amazing family which includes my parents who I feel are ministering angels to me. My cancer treatments have resumed.

 From Doris: If you cut open a cantaloupe and discover it is not quite ripe, if, you leave the rind on the cantaloupe, cover the open fruit with plastic wrap and refrigerate it, it will ripen after a few days.  I learned this by accident this week.  From Doris: The summer is over and school is back in session.  My summer “vacation” was spent in medical facilities.

From Paul: Cycle 3 We are moving on with Cycle 3! While I do not wish to downplay the challenges with any kind of treatment, and while it is hard for me to witness my sweetheart’s pain and discomfort, it feel better to be receiving treatment, rather than waiting as we have for the previous three weeks. I have received a new calling (assignment) in our church. New assignments come from time to time, and they are adjusted relative to our availability, and they are varied in their responsibilities. This calling is to be a Ward Temple and Family History Consultant. A ward is a congregation consisting typically of between 200 and 400 members. This is not the first time I was called to serve in this assignment before we moved from Utah to Idaho, but there have been a lot of changes in the operation of the computers and the applications that have been developed.
