Original Map From Andrew: Oklahoma, on a diet Original map From Kyle: Someone doesn't like 8th notes and kicked them away.

Humor

From Jonathan: I imagine that the phrase "Do Not Touch" must be pretty alarming to read in Braille. From Tom: I told a joke today on a zoom call at work. No one laughed… Apparently I’m not remotely funny.

Music

From Doris: All Creatures of our God and King

Inspirational Quote

From Doris: Elder Steven C. Barlow October 2025 General Conference And the beautiful paradox is that the more we are focused on  showing our love,  for God, the more easily we  recognize His  love for us.

Scripture

From Doris: Doctrine and Covenants 59:7   Thou shalt thank the Lord thy God in all things.

Counting Blessings

From Doris: God gave me strength to be able to go to the temple this week. Spending time in the celestial room with Paul is when/where I feel peace and comfort. Kyle’s family came over on Wednesday.  I got to hold Ewan and I got a big hug from Lachlan. Technology allows us to have contact with our family.   My cancer is responding well to treatments. My treatments are not as harsh as my father’s were. I did not have any medical appointments this week. We were able to attend part of our sacrament meeting this morning. I still do not have stamina to stay for an hour. Luckily, I got to hear the talk given by my friend Candace. It was an amazing talk about gratitude. Today is a beautiful, sunny fall day. The fog from this morning has lifted.

Grieving

From Doris: Tom’s family had to say goodbye to Bear, their family dog, this week.

Tender Mercies

From Doris: On Saturday I was given the heavenly gift of physical energy. I was able to do some house cleaning without becoming exhausted. I had almost forgotten what energy feels like.

Did you know?

From Doris: Our family has walked 1027 miles to Bristol. We read books with our grandchildren. Since most of them live far away from us, we use technology to read together. Pink and purple are Sophie’s favorite colors. Any book with pink pictures are her favorite.  We are reading The Witch of Blackbird Pond with Enna and Toad and Frog books with Grayson. Todd loves Curious George books. Currently Lachlan loves Grumpy Monkey books.  Storytime with Lachlan always includes multiple books because we can’t say no to his requests for more books.

General Update

Cycle 6 of 24 (Continued) We continue our journey and are grateful that is continues in what is somewhat manageable – or at least predictable, even though not ideal. We find time for walks together, escaping on an outing, and time to go to the temple together every few weeks. I misspoke this week when we spoke with the shift coordinator for Thursday morning as we were leaving the temple. When she asked how Doris was doing, I spoke up saying, “It is pretty much the same as yesterday, except it is like yesterday.” By that I meant to say each day is its own day, and the predictability is helping, but it does not seem to be good days, and bad days, but rather good times and uncomfortable times taking turns through each day. And the times of relative comfort or discomfort have some pattern to them, but it is not entirely predictable. Much of how Doris feels is reactive to the timing of the oral chemo pills, meals that are planned to coincide with the medication, and what the meals con...
