Scripture

From Doris: Helaman 3:35 Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God.

Inspirational quote

From Doris: from a greeting card What ultimately matters is not the size of our mountains, but the strength of our mountain mover.

Music

From Doris: Joy to the World 1.       Joy to the world, the Lord is come; Let earth receive her King! Let ev’ry heart prepare him room, And Saints and angels sing, And Saints and angels sing, And Saints, and Saints and angels sing. 2.       Rejoice! Rejoice when Jesus reigns, And Saints their songs employ, While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat the sounding joy. 3.       No more will sin and sorrow grow, Nor thorns infest the ground; He’ll come and make the blessings flow Far as the curse was found, Far as the curse was found, Far as, far as the curse was found. 4.       Rejoice! Rejoice in the Most High, While Israel spreads abroad Like stars that glitter in the sky, And ever worship God, And ever worship God, And ever, and ever worship God. From Paul: Do...

Did you Know?

From Doris: Our family has walked 1082.81 miles to Bristol. I have completed six of my twenty-four months of cancer treatments. Jonathan’s family was going to join us for Thanksgiving, but they got sick and did not come. The 2024 Tabernacle Choir Christmas program is now available to watch on PBS. Gratitude is an evidence of faith. Paul is giving a Christmas organ concert on December 14 at 6 p.m. MST.  Here is his YouTube channel where it will be live streamed and recorded for later viewing. @ https://youtube.com/@pborgan?si=DqLd4bJTdBOfzEnd

Counting Blessings

From Doris: Christmas is not just a season. It is a celebration of the birth, life, resurrection and Atonement of Jesus Christ. Being able to sing Christmas music. Kyle’s family has returned. They visited Greer’s family for Thanksgiving. It will be fun to have our grandsons visit us again. I felt strong enough to attend the first part of today’s sacrament meeting. Our ward sends us a zoom link so we can watch sacrament meeting from home.  Once I reach a point where I hurt too much to stay, we go home and watch the rest of the meeting. We heard excellent talks about gratitude all month long. I am very grateful for technology! We were able to have contact with all of our children this past week. I was also able to join a zoom meeting with my siblings. The migraine I had on Wednesday was gone by Thanksgiving morning. Scott and Andrew joined us for Thanksgiving dinner.  I did not have GI issues after eating Thanksgiving dinner.  What a blessing! We ha...

Grief

From Doris: I had quite a bit of pain in my shoulders and knees this week.

Tender Mercy

From Doris: Thanking God for my cancer has helped me recognize more of His blessings.

General Update

From Paul: Cycle 6 of 24 Finishing this week As we tick off these cycles (now up to number 6!) I find myself looking forward to the next cycle because numbers mean something to me, and this means to me that we will have completed one more step of the 24 steps on our way to full healing. We will also be meeting with Doris’ oncologist/hematologist who will be able to answer questions and give a clearer picture of what is ahead. The hardest things about this journey at this stage from my point of view, in watching over my sweetheart as she goes through this, is a) It seems like a long time, and b), Doris is not feeling better from week to week. She still deals with pain in her joints, unpredictable, yet not devastating gastrointestinal issues. Still, the blood work, the CT (Computed Tomography) Scan was very positive. Her blood work is positive, and we need to continue our diligence in physical activity. I credit Doris for her drive and dedication to her walks. She would not l...
