Did you know?

From Doris: Our family has walked 1641.14 miles to Bristol. Amy ran a half marathon today (February 15). If not for her, our family would be much further away from Bristol. When walking the halls at our church building, I did not hold Paul’s hand. I learned to my dismay that my balance has weakened.  The oncology pharmacy ships my medications to our house. My sister brought us four gallon sized bags of pecans. The nuts had been cracked but not shelled. We have shelled all the pecans in one bag. Paul went to Kyle’s apartment to tend Lachlan so Greer could take Ewan to a medical appointment. When Paul arrived, Lachlan looked for me outside. He said, “Where’s Grandma?” I am listening to Elder Lawrence E. Corbridge’s “Stand Forever” Series on YouTube. I made tapioca pudding this week.

Humor

From Scott: If Americans smile does that mean that Europeans s*kilometer*?   From Kyle:  Lachlan came up to Kyle and said he was listening to a story about Bert and Ernie. Kyle told Lachlan that Grandpa's (Paul) middle name was Burton. Lachlan replied "Oh then grandma's name is Ernie!"

Counting Blessings

From Doris: Paul, my sister and I were able to go to the temple on Tuesday.  I am grateful for my temple covenants. I got to hear President Oaks’ first talk given as President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was at the BYU Devotional on Tuesday. For living prophets and apostles. Elder Clark Gilbert was called to fill the vacancy in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. We are grandparents. It is a joy to interact with our grandchildren. We have had quite a few days of blue skies and sunshine this week. Our ward is very reverent during the administration of the sacrament. I really appreciate that.

Tender Mercy

From Doris: I was given the strength I sought to host family gatherings at our house last weekend.

Music

From Doris: If I Listen With My Heart 1.      If I had been a little child when Jesus lived on earth, I would have liked to walk with Him and listen to His words, But as I search the scriptures I can hear His words of peace, And if I listen with my heart I hear the Savior’s voice. 2.     I hear a living prophet speak the things that Christ would say If He were here upon the earth to talk with me today, The prophet teaches how to live in righteousness and peace, And if I listen with my heart I hear the Savior’s voice. 3.     I feel the Holy Spirit as he teaches truth and right, He comforts me in times of need, He testifies of Christ, He speaks to me in quiet ways that fill my soul with peace, And if I listen with my heart I hear the Savior’s voice.

Scripture

From Doris: Hebrews 4:15-16 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as  we are, yet  without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Inspirational Quote

From Doris: Chad W. Webb October 2025 General Conference We can also focus on Jesus Christ’s central role in Heavenly Father’s perfect plan of happiness. It can change the course of our lives to see our circumstances through the lens of God’s eternal plan instead of seeing the plan through the lens of our temporal circumstances. The gospel is not a list of demands; it’s the good news that Jesus Christ overcame sin and death. It is by accessing His amazing grace through keeping our covenants with God that we can live joyfully now and prepare for life with our Father in Heaven in the eternities.

General Update

From Paul: Cycle 9 week 3 This week has involved less walking than in past weeks, but there were some beautiful days on which we enjoyed walking. Moving is painful for Doris at this point.  But it is also clear that not moving hurts more! Therefore, we try to fit in a walk most weekdays. One morning this week I was studying in The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I was reading in the book of Jacob. Jacob is one of my heroes. 1  But behold, I, Jacob, would speak unto you that are pure in heart. Look unto God with firmness of mind, and pray unto him with exceeding faith, and he will console you in your afflictions, and he will plead your cause, and send down justice upon those who seek your destruction. 2  O all ye that are pure in heart, lift up your heads and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon his love; for ye may, if your minds are  firm , forever. ( Jacob 3:1-2 ...
