Counting Blessings

From Doris: Overall I am stronger than I was a month ago. With the approval of our stake president and bishop, Paul will be presenting a Christmas organ concert at our church building on December 14th. Kyle has volunteered to be our audio/visual specialist to broadcast and record Paul’s Christmas organ concert.  That way we can share it with our family and friends who can’t attend. We are currently anticipating starting the event at 6:00 PM MST. Here is the link: PBOrganEvent   Fall in Eagle is beautiful. The colors of the changing leaves are breathtaking. I used to drive up the canyons in Utah to look at the fall colors but here I simply walk in my own neighborhood.   We were able to attend the temple on Thursday. I always feel peace and comfort when I am in the temple.   Paul was able to get an appointment with our ophthalmologist.  He had started seeing a lot of dark spots in his right eye.  His doctor said he had vitreous deta...

Did you know?

From Doris: CIC stands for name of the trophy that was awarded to the winner of this year’s football game between Air Force and Army – the Commander-in-Chief (CIC) Trophy. We have walked 819.54 miles in our family towards our goal of walking to Bristol England. CIC also stands for Chemotherapy Infusion Center. Listening to uplifting music is the most effective way to bring the spirit into my life. We continue to make progress in restoring the interior of our house back into our home. This upcoming week is another infusion week.

Inspirational Quote

From Doris:  Elder Ronald M. Barcellos October 2025 General Conference The Savior taught that if our hearts are fully turned to Him, because of His atoning sacrifice we can be blessed with the strength and spiritual gifts we need to overcome our mortal challenges, resist temptation, receive direction and understanding, and feel joy and peace in our lives.

Scripture

From Doris: Alma 34:41 But that ye have patience, and bear with those afflictions, with a firm hope that ye shall one day rest from all your afflictions.

General Update

From Paul: Cycle 5 of 24 (Continued) I have been impressed with the account in the 9 th Chapter of John documenting when Jesus and His disciples passed near the man who was a beggar, being blind from his birth. This encounter prompted a question from the disciples. 1  And as  Jesus  passed by, he saw a man which was blind from  his  birth. 2  And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3  Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him . John 9:1-3, emphasis added In my younger years while serving as a missionary, I would teach from this experience of the reality of our pre-earth life, our conscious and definitive existence in which we were before we were born. But I am not reflecting on the question that the disciples posed, but rather the one that has passed through o...
