Counting Blessings

From Doris:

I rang the bell in the chemotherapy infusion center on Friday which signified the end of my infusions.

We were surrounded by family and friends. Kyle recorded the bell ringing to share with our extended family.

I got some pictures of my CIC family.

2025 is over. Somehow that makes it easier to look forward to the end of my cancer treatments. I will be taking chemo pills all of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027, but it feels good to have my diagnosis year behind me.

I wore the coat I purchased to wear in England. It kept me nice and warm during our walk outside.

I also wore the scarf Britta knitted and the hat Jonathan and Britta brought back from Ireland. It is wonderful to be warm when we walk outside. I don’t think I realized what a difference a scarf would make.

We purchased a coat rack.

For a heating pad that wraps around my thighs.

We watched the funeral for Jeffrey R. Holland.

The fireworks done in our neighborhood on New Year’s Eve were mostly finished in the early evening. Only a few went off at midnight. That was a pleasant surprise.

I am grateful for anything that makes me laugh, especially if it is accidental. I meant to say, “You took the wind out of my sails.” but I said, “You took the air out of my tires.” We got a good laugh out of that mistake.

For our sons Andrew, Scott and Tom. We celebrate their birthdays in January.

I was given strength to host a family birthday dinner yesterday…the day after my infusion. This was a blessing I sought in prayer.

For Lachlan who has a birthday in a few weeks.

For a later starting time for our church meetings. It gives us time to work on the blog before church instead of just before bedtime.
