Counting Blessings
From Doris:
We get to have sacrament meeting in our home each Sunday. We
watch a zoom broadcast of our ward’s meeting, Our bishop has given Paul
permission to administer the sacrament meeting in our home.
Renewing my covenants by partaking of the sacrament in my
home has become a deeply meaningful and sacred experience.
After we watched the zoom broadcast, Paul played a
“postlude” of the hymn “Come Ye Disconsolate” on our home organ. It is one of my favorite hymns.
This past week I did not have to go to St. Luke’s Cancer
Center. It was the first break I have
had in six weeks!
The oncologist kept me on a 200 mg dose of chemo pill
#2.
My pain has been better managed this past week. I am not pain free, but I can function around
the pain. What a blessing!
Paul went on a walk with me four different days.
Paul does most of the cooking now. We plan menus together and I place the
grocery order, but he does most of the meal prep and washes all the dishes. I
used to feel guilty about all he does that I used to be able to do. Now I am simply grateful.
Kyle’s family comes over to our house. It is a wonderful diversion.
Lachlan doesn’t see me as his sick Grandma.
We had a monthly video chat with all of our children who
were able to join us.
